BIPOC Coalition

The Collaboration

The PTA group consists of an evolving collective of youth-serving nonprofit organizations. The group came to life through discussions among leadership staff about their experiences with administrative processes, shifting practices, and navigating systems. As a collective, we identified topics that we shared an interest in exploring, including timelining program/service delivery and identifying overlaps, brainstorming strategies for collaboration in grant applications, and sharing resources on administrative practices.

After collectively discussing the group members’ time, labour, and access needs, PeerNetBC accepted an anchoring role in applying for the City of Vancouver’s Convening Grant. This process of highlighting and acknowledging each member’s challenges allows the PTA group  to accommodate different capacities and facilitate meaningful participation while honouring all of our members.

Since its inception, the needs, interests, and membership of the group have evolved. The PTA group is currently developing a process that honours these shifts, centres relationship building, and practices the shared principles of the collective.
