Although we are gathering in a digital space, we would like to humbly acknowledge that our organization predominantly does our work on the stolen and unceded homelands and territories of sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xwməθ kwəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations.
We also recognize the displacement of Indigenous people in their own lands and that our work and gathering of people across the province is taking place on many unnamed traditional, unceded and homelands of Indigenous peoples across what is otherwise called British Columbia.
Join us for a night of community, appreciation, engagement, and celebration! We will be unveiling the new PeerNetBC website and look & feel, sharing highlights from our year including the completion of the Health Equity Collaboration report and the Youth Facilitator’s Network Guide, and engaging our members and community in shaping what is next for us as an organization.
We will also be going over our 2019 – 2020 Annual Report, reflections from staff and board, as well as official AGM business (hopefully as quickly as possible!).
This past year at PeerNetBC we have been in the middle of examining the way we work with our community, and as a team. Our hope for PeerNetBC at this time of transition is to make big shifts toward being an organization whose peer-led structure reflects the communities we work with and is grounded in our values of anti-oppression, and decolonization.
This is why it is an exciting time for members of PeerNetBC and the communities we work with to reflect on the work PeerNetBC did in 2019-2020, and provide us with valuable feedback to shape our work going forward.
Access Needs & Accessibility:
We hope to provide ASL and closed captioning for the duration of the event and are working on securing these services. If we are unable to provide them, we will let folks know ahead of time and will do our best to find alternatives for folks who need them.
Any zoom experience levels are welcome! We are happy to support you ahead of time to learn how to join a zoom call and will have a tech person assigned during the event that you can private message or call if you are having any issues.
We love seeing faces but don’t expect you to have your camera on – you’re welcome to come on and off your camera as needed. There will be a break during the event but we also encourage you to attend to your access needs (eg. eating, bathroom breaks, etc) during the event. You are also welcome to use the chat box at any time instead of audio.
Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs for the event that are not covered above. You can email Mari at admin@peernetbc.com with any additional requests.
