Custom workshops are designed to meet your group’s needs and are usually hosted at your chosen venue. We collaborate and create with you (the host!) to determine what activities best meet your workshop’s goals. We provide workshops of all sizes for various organizations and groups such as high schools, grassroots movements, newcomers, corporate teams, unions, and community groups.
We tailor our custom workshops to accommodate a range of participant numbers and workshop hours. PeerNetBC facilitators bring insight and experience to help you create a workshop that allows the time and space for meaningful discussion as well as interactive activities. Because our workshops are interactive and experiential, we recommend allowing enough time to build relationships and create a safe space for workshop participants. This looks different for each group, but keep in mind that the larger the group and the shorter the time frame, the less interactive the workshop will be with less opportunity for meaningful discussion.
If you would like our suggestions when planning a workshop, feel free to reach out and let us help guide you through the process!
What is experiential learning, and why is it valuable?
Given the size of our team, the demand for our workshops, and our relational approach to working with our partners in development and delivery, we appreciate you contacting us early in your planning. By allowing us ample time to connect (1 to 2 months is ideal!), we can ensure that we create your ideal workshop.
What are the workshop themes we have established curriculum for?
- Diversity & Working Together
- Introduction to Facilitation (An introductory level workshop which is also a prerequisite for “Exploring Facilitation”)
- Exploring Facilitation
- Community Engagement
- Boundaries and Self-Care
- Anti-oppression
For a more in-depth look at each of these topics, please visit our workshop themes page.
How much does a custom workshop cost?
Our workshops operate on a sliding scale, based on your needs, organizational resources, and the type of workshop that you have asked us to deliver. Through collaboration and consultation, we will work together to determine an appropriate rate.
PeerNetBC is committed to providing more accessible and equitable resources and workshops for our staff, partners and collaborators. We offer sliding scale rates to increase access for groups with limited funds or groups holding identities that have historically been left out of facilitator-led training spaces. For example, Indigenous, People of Colour, 2 Spirit people, disabled folks, sexual and gender diverse people with limited funds, or peer-led groups operating on volunteer labour.

Participant & Host Reflections
I had a great time at the Diversity and Inclusion workshop! The facilitators, Cadence and Lydia, were friendly and engaging, and went to great lengths to ensure all attendees felt welcome. The group activities were fun and also helped demonstrate concepts like equity versus equality. I didn’t get bored!
I attended the PeerNetBC Youth Summer Series. What a wonderful way to end my summer! The workshop was a four part series, and I attended all of them. They were facilitated by Simran, and were amazing. It was a transformative experience for me, and I found myself gushing to my friends about what I learned everyday.
